Octomore is a philosophical creation that represents an “experiment beyond limits” and the “coexistence of power and delicacy.” Produced by the Bruichladdich Distillery, the name originates from a small 19th-century farm distillery that once existed on Islay. Reviving that legacy since 2002, Octomore is released annually in limited quantities, embodying a spirit of both tradition and bold challenge.

The defining characteristic of Octomore is its status as a “Super Heavily Peated” whisky. While it boasts phenol levels (ppm) several times higher than typical Islay whiskies, the taste is surprisingly refined, delicate, and well-balanced rather than merely harsh.

Octomore 15.1 is the most distilled expression of the series, matured exclusively in first-fill Bourbon casks. Despite its formidable 137.8 ppm peat smoke, it achieves an exquisite equilibrium with structured notes of vanilla, toffee, and toasted oak.
