Lagavulin, established in 1816 on the southeast coast of Islay, is often called the “King of Peat.” It is a definitive name in intense, deep, and smoky whiskies. While situated alongside neighbors like Ardbeg and Laphroaig, Lagavulin distinguishes itself through a weighted smokiness, a heavy body, and a slow distillation process that adheres to long-standing traditions to create its profound depth of flavor. Among global whisky enthusiasts, it is regarded as the pinnacle of heavy-peated malts.

Lagavulin 8 Year Old was originally released as a limited edition to commemorate the distillery’s 200th anniversary. Due to an overwhelming response, it has become a permanent fixture in the core range. This expression reinterprets the original intensity of Lagavulin into a younger, drier, and more vibrant style.
