Korean Landscape Series is a Korea-exclusive collection that brings together Japanese single malt whisky and the landscapes of Korea.

Komagatake is produced at the Komagatake Distillery, located at the foot of Japan’s Central Alps in Nagano Prefecture, where the cool mountain climate plays an important role in the maturation of MARS Whisky’s single malts.

Korean Landscape Series No.1 was created from a single cask selected exclusively for the Korean market.

Rather than blending whisky from multiple casks, this expression was matured for six years in a single 1st-Fill Oloroso Sherry Puncheon. As a first-fill cask, it delivers a particularly pronounced sherry influence, bringing rich dried fruit, nuts, sweetness, and spice to the whisky.

After maturation, the whisky was bottled at its natural cask strength of 59% ABV, without dilution. Only 490 bottles were produced from this single cask.

The bottle served at Morogado is Bottle No. 109 of 490.

The label depicts a spring night at Namsan in Seoul, with cherry blossoms in bloom and a woman in kimono sharing a drink with a man in hanbok — a visual expression of the series’ connection between Japanese whisky and the Korean landscape.

One Oloroso Sherry Puncheon, divided into just 490 bottles — a Komagatake Single Cask created exclusively for Korea.
