Hakushu Distiller’s Reserve
Hakushu is a single malt whisky produced at Suntory’s forest distillery, located deep within the mountains near Mount Kaikomagatake — often referred to as part of the “Japanese Alps.” Situated at an elevation of around 700 meters, the distillery is renowned for its exceptionally pure water, said to be of such quality that it was once used by the Japanese Imperial Household for tea ceremonies. This pristine natural environment gives Hakushu its signature fresh and vibrant character.
Hakushu is one of Suntory’s most celebrated single malt whisky brands, and the Distiller’s Reserve is its most approachable and widely enjoyed expression. Smooth and refreshingly crisp, it opens with aromas of peppermint and melon, followed by lively flavors of yuzu, grapefruit, and lemon on the palate. The experience concludes with a delicate touch of smoke, creating a clean and refined finish.
