Glenfarclas, which translates to “Valley of the Green Grassland,” is renowned for its beautiful distillery scenery. Alongside Macallan and Glendronach, it is considered one of the three great masters of Sherry cask maturation. Notably, Glenfarclas remains one of the few distilleries that is still family-owned and independently operated rather than being part of a large corporation.

The distillery strictly adheres to traditional methods for the sake of flavor, eschewing modern trends such as indirect heating or cask finishing. By persisting with direct-fire distillation—a challenging process to manage—they create the unique toffee and caramel notes signature to Glenfarclas, while utilizing only Sherry oak for maturation. Every drop of Glenfarclas is a condensation of their heritage and stubborn commitment to quality.

Glenfarclas 105 holds the distinction of being the world’s first commercially released “Cask Strength” whisky. Cask Strength refers to whisky bottled directly from the cask without the addition of any water. While most whiskies are diluted with water during blending to achieve a specific alcohol content, Cask Strength expressions retain their high natural proof. Bottled at a powerful 60% ABV, Glenfarclas 105 is the flagship of the distillery, delivering an intense explosion of rich Sherry notes and bold spice.
