The Glenallachie Distillery is situated at the foot of Ben Rinnes, in the heart of the Speyside region of Scotland. As one of Scotland’s few independently owned and operated distilleries, it is currently led by Billy Walker, a legendary master distiller with over 50 years of experience in the industry. After acquiring and successfully transforming BenRiach in 2004, GlenDronach in 2008, and Glenglassaugh in 2013, he sold them in 2016 for a significant sum. In 2017, he made his return by acquiring Glenallachie. This move immediately drew immense attention to the distillery, which has since grown its reputation and earned consistent praise from whisky enthusiasts worldwide.
The Glenallachie 8 Year Old begins with the sweet aroma of heather honey, followed by the vibrant notes of orange peel, almond nougat, and toffee. On the palate, it offers a remarkably creamy mouthfeel with flavors of honeycomb, treacle, and oak. The experience concludes with a sweet finish of ginger and mocha.
