Bowmore Distillery, established in 1779, is the oldest distillery on Islay and one of the most historic in all of Scotland. Its name is derived from the local village meaning “Great Sea Reef,” and its seaside location allows the whisky to absorb the unique character of the sea breeze, humidity, and peat. Bowmore continues to uphold traditional floor maltings and a slow maturation process, earning the nickname “The Gentleman of Islay” for its elegant balance of smoky notes and delicate fruitiness.

Bowmore 15 Year Old is matured for at least 15 years in Bourbon casks before being finished in Sherry casks, resulting in an elegant harmony of deep, rich fruitiness and smoke. The finish in Spanish Oloroso Sherry casks specifically imparts intense notes of dried fruits and dark chocolate. It is highly regarded as a smooth yet bold smoky sherry malt that commands a distinct presence.
