Bowmore Distillery, established in 1779, is the oldest distillery on Islay and one of the most historic in all of Scotland. Its name is derived from the local village meaning “Great Sea Reef,” and its seaside location allows the whisky to absorb the unique character of the sea breeze, humidity, and peat. Bowmore continues to uphold traditional floor maltings and a slow maturation process, earning the nickname “The Gentleman of Islay” for its elegant balance of smoky notes and delicate fruitiness.

Bowmore 12 Year Old is a signature expression characterized by delicate peat, subtle sherry notes, and a fruity aroma touched by the sea. It offers a harmonious blend of Islay’s distinct character with a smoothness and balance that makes it approachable even for those new to smoky whiskies.
