Blanton’s Single Barrel traces its origins back to Colonel Albert B. Blanton, who personally selected exceptionally matured barrels for bottling. In 1984, master distiller Elmer T. Lee introduced this concept to the public, giving birth to Blanton’s Single Barrel — widely recognized as the world’s first commercial single barrel bourbon and a pioneer of the premium bourbon category.
The whiskey gained further fame through the film John Wick, where it was featured prominently, and is instantly recognizable by its iconic bottle design resembling a hand grenade and its collectible horse-and-jockey stopper.
Each bottle of Blanton’s Single Barrel is drawn from “one exceptional barrel,” highlighting the unique character of an individual cask. Layers of vanilla rise on the nose, followed by notes of caramel, butterscotch, and clove, while a rich honeyed sweetness lingers gracefully on the finish.
