The story of Blanton’s begins with the idea of one exceptional barrel.

Colonel Albert B. Blanton, who once led the distillery, was known to personally select exceptional “Honey Barrels” from Warehouse H whenever important guests visited. Rather than blending them with other barrels, he would have the whiskey from a single barrel bottled and served to his guests.

Inspired by this tradition, Master Distiller Elmer T. Lee introduced Blanton’s Single Barrel in 1984, naming it in honor of Colonel Blanton. At a time when blending multiple barrels was standard practice, Blanton’s helped establish the modern premium single-barrel bourbon category.

Straight From The Barrel takes this philosophy to its purest form. Whiskey from a single barrel is bottled without dilution to a standardized proof, preserving its natural barrel strength. As a result, every barrel has its own proof and individual character, with each bottle recording its Barrel Number, Dump Date, Warehouse, and Rick Number.

The bottle served at Morogado comes from Barrel No. 869, matured in Rick No. 110 of Warehouse H. It was dumped on September 22, 2025 and bottled at its natural strength of 64.6% ABV.

Just as Colonel Blanton once selected a single barrel for his special guests, the whiskey in your glass represents the individual character of one particular barrel from Warehouse H — Barrel No. 869.
