“If you want the most intense smokiness, Ardbeg is the answer.”
Founded in 1815 on the southern coast of Islay, Scotland, Ardbeg is renowned as the world’s most intensely peated whisky. Its profile of dense smoke, sea breeze, tar, moss, and sea salt perfectly captures the wild depth of Islay, yet it maintains a surprisingly delicate and complex balance amidst such intensity.
As a brand under the LVMH Group that blends tradition with bold innovation—even conducting experiments by sending whisky into space—its annual limited editions are highly coveted by collectors worldwide.
Ardbeg Uigeadail (pronounced Oog-a-dal), meaning “dark and mysterious place” in Gaelic, is named after the loch that provides the distillery’s water. This expression is widely regarded as a masterpiece that perfectly balances Ardbeg’s signature heavy smoke with the rich, dense flavors of Sherry casks. Bottled without chill-filtration to preserve its full-bodied texture, it harmoniously blends traditional Bourbon casks with Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks. It has established itself as one of the most beloved flagship releases among Ardbeg enthusiasts for its exceptional depth and sweetness.
