Founded in 2016, Nagahama Distillery first focused on blending through its Amahagan World Malt Edition series. Recognizing blending as one of the most fundamental and essential aspects of whisky making, the distillery developed a unique style of “World Malt” whisky that brings together Japan’s environment and craftsmanship with Scotland’s whisky-making tradition.

Amahagan World Malt Edition No. 2 is the second release in the series. Built upon the foundation of Edition No. 1, it undergoes additional maturation in red wine casks, adding a distinctive layer of wine-driven complexity and richness.

Displaying a brilliant ruby-brick hue, this expression combines the raisin and berry notes imparted by the red wine casks with Nagahama’s signature malty character. The result is a beautifully balanced whisky with depth, sweetness, and a gentle kick that ties the flavors together. Toward the finish, bright orange peel notes emerge, bringing freshness and lift to the rich palate, resulting in a long, elegant, and refreshing conclusion.
